One Education Reading Award

We are proud to announce that we received accreditation for the ONE EDUCATION LITERACY - READING AWARD SILVER

The staff at St Columba’s have worked very hard to implement a comprehensive reading curriculum which focusses on the skills needed for decoding and understanding as well as promoting a reading for pleasure culture to all pupils.

There are three sections within the award –

Reading for Decoding

Reading for Understanding

Reading for Enjoyment

The One Education Reading Award illustrates to all staff, children, visitors and stakeholders, the commitment and knowledge shown by our school in building a successful reading curriculum. The award shows how we have focused on providing children with the skills, the passion, and the enthusiasm needed for reading.
